How to optimize your SEO Titles and meta descriptions

24/1/2023

Introduction

Google Search Console is a free tool offered by Google that allows website owners to monitor their website's performance in Google search results. One of the key metrics that can be tracked using the Search Console is the click-through rate (CTR) of individual pages on a website. A low CTR can indicate that a page is not being shown to the right audience or that the title and description in the search results are not compelling enough to entice users to click. Seotisfy is fully integrated with the Google Search Console API which makes it easier to find those CTR improvements.

For this article we will use one of our demo accounts.

2 things factor into click through rate:

1. Title

2. Meta description

How to find pages with a low CTR?

Within the Seotisfy application, first select the project you want to work on in the top-left dropdown. Once you selected it navigate to the Performance tab.

  • Select the pages tab by clicking on it.
  • For my own optimization process I like to optimize pages with a CTR lower than 3% first.
  • To do this apply the CTR filter and select from 0 - 3. Click on apply and the application will only show pages with a CTR between the 0% and 3%
